Innovative trio from Amsterdam with Maarten Ornstein (saxophones, clarinets), Alex Oele (bass), and Eric Hoeke (drums). Just like the olympic 100m dash, a concert by DASH! is a profound, almost physical experience. Audiences love how the band combines complex interplay with a committed yet easy going stage presence. With deceptively simple material, DASH! creates a musical universe all of its own, a universe in which only the notes that matter are played in a highly transparent fashion. This results in a very intense, minimalistic and almost hypnotic band sound filled with moments of uncurbed swing, volcanic eruptions and whispering melodies. DASH! started in 2004 as an octet with 4 singers and percussion added to the trio. Since then the band has released 7 albums: 'DASH!' and 'Bangalore' as an octet and 'Lowpass Heroes', 'DASH! Off', 'Boogie', 'Rewired' and 'Radio Rotor' (paired with the sheet music, so everyone can play the pieces with their own ensemble) as a trio. The latest album 'Radio Rotor on the Road' was released on Spetember 22nd 2025 as a digital release.
